ABOUT

WHAT'S THE CRAIC WITH DÓNALL'S

Dónall's began with a simple idea: to share the taste of Home. What started out as a small-batch bakery and deli pop-up, tucked among the bustle of Liverpool's farmers markets, has grown into something much more than a food venture. Our very first market, on a chilly February morning in 2026, marked the beginning of a story about connection, community and the joy of honest food.

Celebrating Irish tradition and rooted in community spirit, Dónall's is a pro-social, for-profit business built around people. Every soda bread, every scone, every 'Fifteen' carries a little of the spirit I grew up with; generosity, laughter and the belief that good food can bring people together.

My biggest inspiration has always been close to home: my family and the scenic land I grew up in. It's their influence that shapes every decision, from the ingredients we source to the stories we share. We proudly use authentic Irish produce, honour much loved family recipes and add our own stamp when creativity calls.

As we grow, our mission stays the same - to nurture community, kindness and a sense of belonging through food because at its heart, Dónall's isn't just about what we bake. It's about the people who gather around the table. We want to share a little goodness with the world, one bite at a time.

THE BACKSTORY

Hello! My name is Danny and I am the Founder and Baker at Dónall’s.

My story is Irish in spirit and Liverpool at heart. I was born and raised in Derry City (yes - just like Derry Girls), where life revolved around family, good food, and recipes passed down through generations. Fifteen years ago, I crossed the Irish Sea to Liverpool in search of adventure, self-discovery, and a new chapter at University.

Derry and Liverpool and their people, have helped shaped my beliefs: humour that gets you through almost anything, people who look out for one another, and food that feeds both the soul and the conversation. They taught me that hearty food does more than nourish us, it brings people together.

Connection has always mattered to me because I know what it feels like to be away from home and have experienced loneliness too. In a world where genuine connection can be hard to find, food has a beautiful way of breaking down those barriers and creating belonging. That's what drives Dónall's; to make it easier for people to meet, share and connect over something genuinely good.

OUR MISSION AND PURPOSE

We celebrate Irish culture with bold, inclusive, friendly, and fun experiences for everyone.

Dónall’s exists to bring people and communities together through the warmth of classic Irish hospitality, a shared loved of food, and strong family values. We’re proud to honour tradition while giving back to the local community that inspires us.

OUR VISION

Community and Family is at the heart of Irishness. Dónall’s wants to harness that.

We want to be synonymous with affordable but hearty Irish cooking and baking. We care about society, liberation, diversity and the planet, and we are committed to building a better future for all. We want to spread kindness and build a community where everyone belongs and to ultimately help combat loneliness through our community-building activities.

WHERE WE ARE HEADED

(WITH YOU)

Our journey is only just beginning and we'd love for you to be part of it. As Dónall's grows, we're building more than a bakery; we're creating a movement of good food, good people and good impact.

In time, we hope to bring Dónall's to doorsteps across the country through nationwide delivery and, one day, our first bricks-and-mortar spaces where community and conversation come first.

We want to grow Dónall's and it's impact alongside you.
